John “Jack” Kutz

John was one of the boldest men I’ve seen praying for people in public. To this day when I pray for people in public I see it as an act of boldness and think of John almost every time I do. When you see me pray for people in public (and you will) just know that I get it from John!

John, a man of the Word, who loves the Lord, a friend of God. What a joy it will be to see you again!

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of our dear brother John “Jack” Kutz. I had such great respect for John and will always be grateful for his kindness, his faith, and his heart for prayer. I also greatly appreciated John as a Torah teacher. I have fond memories of the times he taught the Torah class at BT. He had a real love for the Word of God, and I was always blessed by his wisdom. I especially remember a very difficult trial I was going through in 2019. John took the time not only to pray for me, but also to give me words of encouragement that meant so much to me during that difficult time. He also prayed for my sister while she was on kidney dialysis. His prayers, encouragement, and genuine concern meant more to us than he probably ever knew, and we have never forgotten them. John was truly a dear brother in the Lord, and he will be greatly missed. I am so thankful to have known him, and I look forward to the day when we will see him again in the resurrection. As Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” I believe those words are a beautiful way to remember John. He fought the good fight, he finished the race, and he kept the faith. May his family and all who loved him be comforted by the hope and promises we have in our Lord. For those who may not have heard it, John also shared his personal testimony on YouTube. It is a very inspiring testimony, and I encourage you to search for John Kutz on YouTube and listen to it. I am so thankful that his testimony was recorded so that his story and faith can continue to encourage others. 🙏

Dear Jack, You have been one of our dearest friends for over 40 years. When we first moved to Seattle from Chicago in 1979, you and Mary Jane warmly welcomed us. We four already had the New Trier connection, but our friendship went way beyond that. (Tim wants you to know that he is aware that you won the HS State Championship in Gymnastics!)
