Time with uncle Jack

I told all my friends when I was little my uncle Jack was a mountain climber, as a profession that’s really what I thought he did. Uncle Jack always asked questions and was interested in your life. Great to have him as an uncle. Thank you uncle Jack! Would love to see you and MJ soon!

Genuine Welcome

A little about Grandpa Jack

Married to Mary Jane in 1957. Dad to four, Grandpa to many, and still the one who keeps us all connected.

More about him

Jack learned to fly on instruments before he ever flew by sight, and his check ride ended with the chief pilot flying him into the thickest cloud he could find and saying, “get us out.” He did. Decades later he was still coaching his grandson through solo cross-countries by email. He climbed Mt. Rainier in 1974 with Harold age 14, and his daughter Kim, who was 16, and wrote it up for the Mountaineers fifty years on. Summers belong to Lake Chelan, where most of the family has a photo of themselves as a baby on his lap. He is the family's historian: the one scanning slides from forever, emailing them out with captions, and writing down the stories in “Stories for My Grandkids.” And he is a man of deep faith, who still sends what he calls a Bouquet of Truth when a verse stops him on his walk. This page is the family's way of keeping everyone close to him.
